Year 2000 I.V.V.Audit

Overview

As we enter the final months before the century date change, the Independent Verification and Validation (IVV) Audit emerges as a critical step in due diligence for Year 2000 (Y2K) best practices. The IVV Audit is designed as a high level, third party review of an enterprise’s Y2K Project effort and general status of "readiness" to conduct business in the 21st century.

CoreTech Approach
By incorporating Y2K best practices, the methodology used by CoreTech’s audit team of Y2K specialists is designed to include a review of the following: status of enterprise-wide Y2K awareness; executive management commitment; establishment of a Y2K Project Office and central repository for the Y2K project documentation; creation and adherence to a Y2K Project Plan; examination of the remediation and testing methodologies used; and development of IT contingency and business continuance plans.

Features of the IVV Audit
This comprehensive review is usually performed over a 5-day period (per business site location) at a fixed price. The audit team consists of 2 Y2K consultant specialists working on the client site, with oversight and "best practices" reviews provided by the Y2K Practice Leader. The client sponsor is presented with a brief "Findings and Recommendations" document; a 1-page summary report card, and a slide presentation for internal management review.

Benefits of the IVV Audit
The IVV Audit provides clients with a low risk, high return on investment approach to protecting the corporate assets. It provides a 3rd party, unbiased review of the Y2K project effort against Y2K "best practices". The audit is designed to validate the completeness of all phases of the project plan and to verify those components of the plan that need further work or may have been over looked. An IVV Audit executed before October, 1999 offers the most promising opportunity to reduce the risk of Y2K failures; prevent potential Y2K litigation; and reduce time and money that would otherwise be required to correct a Y2K problem after the turn of the century.
