CoreTech’s Ed Beaumont nominated as Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Regional Finalist

Philadelphia, PA, June 14, 1999Edward Beaumont, CoreTech Consulting Group’s® Chief Executive Officer, has been named as a regional finalist to receive the Greater Philadelphia Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year® award.

The award winners will be named at a black tie event planned for later this month at the Philadelphia Marriott hotel. Winners of the regional awards, both from Philadelphia and 46 other regions around the United States, will be inducted into the elite Entrepreneur of the Year Hall of Fame at an international conference to be held this fall.

Beaumont’s nomination as an Entrepreneur of the Year finalist marks the latest honor for both Beaumont and CoreTech, the company he helped start seven years ago. Inc. Magazine recently cited CoreTech as one of America’s 500 fastest-growing privately held companies. Deloitte & Touche also named CoreTech as one of the nation’s 500 fastest-growing IT firms.

"I’m obviously pleased by the Ernst & Young nomination, both for the personal recognition as well as the statement it makes about the way CoreTech has grown," Beaumont commented. The company reported 1998 total net sales of more than $42 million, up more than 2,700 per cent from 1993. CoreTech’s employee roster also grew during that time by more than 700 per cent.

Beaumont helped build CoreTech into its current leadership role, along with co-founders David Moore and Mario DeMarco, through their insistence on a client-centered approach, and a focus on making new technologies work for companies, maximizing the return on their IT investment, while minimizing the disruption and risk that inevitably occur. The three partners devised CoreTech’s TOPP DisciplineSM to address those issues. TOPP ensures that when a new technology is introduced into a company that the technical, organizational, process and people implications are accounted for in each phase of delivery.

The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award is one of the most sought-after citations in today’s business marketplace. A survey of winners from prior years indicated that receiving the award enhanced their business reputation (91%), improved employee morale (52%), and increased sales (17%).
